Salmonsus 2: revelations

•  Introduce what you created.

Last we saw each other (yesterday) I shared with you a slideshow about the super salmonsus. Today I have prepared a profile on it for my stories class, connecting it to the UN’s SDGS (haha remember those) and explaining it’s powers and how it can help realize SDG 15, which is to fix the quality of land. So far, I understand that the purpose of the class is to teach us about types of stories and how they evolved. On Wednesday, we went to the poetry foundation and looked at some exhibits that used a viewmaster and raised surfaces on paper.

Name of creature: Super Salmonsus (suspectum in nobis)

Animals it encompasses and symbolism:

Thunderbird (power, creation, would be used to replenish lakes which have depleted) , salmon (wisdom, endurance, would be used to ) also some alligator too (moreso for males, just thought it’d look cool)

Appearance etc

The Super Salmonsus has the body of a salmon with alligator skin (blue if female green if male) with hawklike feet and wings, both still with alligator skin. In the same way that normal fish breathe by taking air out of the water, a supersalmonsus can produce water from air. It lives in desert climates and is most plentiful in the American southwest, however through illegal smuggling it has popped up in Australia, Arabia, and Afghanistan. It’s only natural predator is the Bison Bison Bison, or plains bison.

SDG connection:

The endurance of the salmon should help any troubled environments facing forest fires, while the power and creation of the thunderbird is to replenish dying lakes (rip lake mead <3)

”this has to be the best photo ever created”- D.P.

In conclusion, I enjoyed this project because in encompassed world building which I LOVE. The visual was difficult however, because I’m not that great at editing.
